DSP Processor

Real-Time DSP for SSM Data Filtering + Feature Extraction

The SSM real-time DSP processor is a 2 kg, 10-watt computing unit fabricated from radiation-hardened FPGA fabric that executes FIR and IIR filtering, Fast Fourier Transform spectral analysis, and event-detection feature extraction on data streams at 100 megasamples per second. Operating without atmospheric or magnetospheric shielding, lunar electronics face unattenuated cosmic radiation and extreme operating conditions, requiring robust hardware architectures to avoid logic upsets during multi-decade deployments. Designed for the Lunar Ark system, the processor maintains a 20-year operational lifetime and a 200,000-hour mean time between failures while streaming data to downstream seismic and sensor fusion processing modules.
