The 5D Quartz Disc Library of Human Knowledge is a passive physical data repository comprising approximately 100 fused silica discs with a combined mass of 20 kg and a total storage capacity of 36 petabytes. Each 360-terabyte disc encodes public literature, reference texts, and scientific datasets—equivalent to roughly two million books—using five-dimensional optical nanostructures rated for a 13.8-billion-year operational lifetime at zero power consumption. Deployed within lunar storage installations, the solid-state quartz media protects archival records from unshielded cosmic radiation, extreme 300 K surface temperature swings, and abrasive regolith without requiring active thermal control or continuous electrical power across 14-day lunar nights.
