Knowledge Management System

Universal Knowledge Preservation and Access System (The Scribe)

The Universal Knowledge Preservation and Access System, designated The Scribe, is a lunar archive designed to store, organize, and convey the complete corpus of human knowledge across a 10,000-year lifetime. Drawing 200 watts of operational power, the system integrates digital storage with passive analog backups composed of etched nickel alloy plates, engraved sapphire or quartz discs, and ceramic tablets. This physical redundancy directly mitigates the ambient lunar radiation that corrupts solid-state electronic media over extended timescales. To ensure usability by future human or non-human discoverers following total electronic failure, the archive utilizes self-describing decoders and progressive disclosure formats that bootstrap communication from fundamental mathematics and physics without requiring prior context.

Comprehensive knowledge preservation system ensuring all human knowledge is stored, organized, and accessible to any future intelligence

Purpose

Serve as the 'Scribe' - continuously documenting, organizing, and making accessible all knowledge stored in the Ark, with universal encoding that can be understood by humans, AIs, or unknown future intelligences

Context

Implements the MRD prime directive of 'truth' and 'accessibility'. Works with L1-DVT for digital storage backend and L1-GEN for species knowledge. Includes physical analog backups (etched metal/glass) that survive even total electronic failure.
