Physical Archive Case System

Hermetic Cases + Library System for Physical Knowledge

The Physical Archive Case System is a 300-kilogram storage installation comprising 200 hermetic 316L stainless steel cases arranged on library shelving across a 10-cubic-meter volume. Built to protect and organize archival media such as nickel plates and 5D discs within the Lunar Ark, each case utilizes an inert gas fill and per-item RFID tagging for automated robotic retrieval. Operating with integrated environmental monitoring at a continuous 10 watts, the hardware is engineered for long-mission durability, specifying a 10,000,000-hour mean time between failures and a 1,000-year operational lifetime.
