The Moon's surface swings from +127°C in sunlight to −173°C in shadow — a 300°C range that would destroy unprotected electronics and biological material in hours. L1-TCS actively pumps heat away from electronics and into space via radiator panels. L1-PTC provides passive insulation as a constant baseline. L1-HAB maintains the pressurised interior environment where the preservation vaults operate, with airlock interfaces that allow robotic maintenance teams to enter without depressurising the main volume.
