Every number here is measured from live system state — cycle timestamps, node files on disk, and real API call outcomes. Nothing on this page is simulated. When a value cannot be determined it reads unknown rather than showing a plausible guess.
When the backend is offline this page still works: it reads the same data files directly and reports what it can, clearly labelled as static. A fresh cycle timestamp is never treated as proof of fresh data — if the loops are turning but the upstream API is failing, that is reported as a failure, not as success.
The Ark's premise is that a system can be built to outlast the people who built it. A system that claims that should be able to tell you honestly how it is doing.
