Foundation Settlement Monitor

Foundation Settlement Tracking via Survey

The Foundation Settlement Monitor is an optical surveying apparatus comprising a 5 kg robotic theodolite and fixed retroreflector reference targets mounted on structural foundations. Operating within subsystem L2-SSM-FOUND for the Lunar Ark system, it tracks foundation movement using periodic optical levelling surveys performed by an L1-ROB robotic unit at six-month intervals. The 10 W system yields a 0.5 mm settlement detection resolution, providing long-mission settlement trending and compensation data across a 20-year operational lifetime rated for a 100,000-hour mean time between failures.
