SLAM Localization Engine

Multi-Sensor Visual + LIDAR + IMU SLAM

The SLAM Localization Engine is an autonomous navigation software suite hosted on radiation-hardened NOR flash and a GPU accelerator, drawing 5 watts of power. It fuses visual telemetry, LIDAR geometry, high-rate inertial measurements, and absolute fixes from LunaNet or local beacons into a unified position estimate. Optical tracking is severely challenged by the Moon's low-texture, feature-sparse terrain; the engine mitigates this by integrating geometric LIDAR data and digital elevation model feature anchoring to constrain drift, maintaining 1-meter global consistency at an update rate of 10 hertz across operational surface deployments.
