Language Rosetta Stones

Multi-Language Parallel Texts (Rosetta Stones)

Multi-language parallel texts are 10-kilogram passive storage components consisting of nickel plates etched with identical reference content across more than 1,500 Earth languages. Designed to enable the decipherment of Lunar Ark archives by future observers, the plates incorporate alphabetic, ideographic, and pictographic writing systems etched at multiple scales for progressive zoom. Operating at zero watts of power consumption, the medium relies on the physical durability of metallic nickel to survive multi-millennium lunar surface exposure, preserving micro-scale inscriptions across a design lifetime of one million years without active electrical systems or maintenance.
