Three systems that keep the rest of the Ark operational over century timescales. Lunar dust is insidious — electrostatically charged, razor-sharp, and pervasive — L1-DST keeps it from degrading every external surface and seal. L1-SSM provides constant structural health monitoring across the entire facility, catching incipient failures before they become catastrophic. L1-MFG closes the self-sufficiency loop: when robots identify a worn component that cannot be repaired, L1-MFG fabricates a replacement on-site from raw ISRU feedstock.
