Electronics Pre-Sort

Manual + Robotic Electronics Item Separation

The Electronics Pre-Sort station is a 20 kg waste-processing unit that catalogs and disassembles discarded electronics into printed circuit board assemblies, batteries, connectors, and chassis at a rate of 30 items per hour. Operating on 100 W of electrical power, the assembly uses a dexterous robotic arm fitted with tool-changing vacuum grippers and magnetic pickups to route separated materials into dedicated bins. To support closed-loop material cycles as lunar mission inventories accumulate, the station prioritizes component reuse while strictly isolating volatile batteries to mitigate fire hazards inside the habitat.
