Leveling System

Active Leveling Jacks and Alignment System

The active leveling jacks and alignment system is an adjustable foundation assembly designed to compensate for terrain irregularity and foundation settlement. Utilizing stainless steel screw jack legs with MoS2 lubricated threads, the system provides fine adjustment of structural position and attitude, while integrated inclinometer sensors detect tilt. Locking mechanisms secure the assembly after adjustment to prevent drift under load. In the lunar environment, the mechanism must operate reliably within a dusty vacuum, providing active releveling capability to correct for moonquake-induced displacements as well as long-term differential settlement across a 100-year service life.
