Minimum Capability Set

Defined Minimum Capability Set per Degradation Level

The Minimum Capability Set is a software-based operational matrix implemented within L1-DVT that specifies which functions remain operational across progressive degradation levels of the Lunar Ark system. Configured for a 100-year operational lifetime with a 500,000-hour mean time between failures and a power draw of 0.1 watts, the architecture maps 50 defined capabilities across tiered survival modes. In accordance with preservation directives, the matrix enforces a strict priority hierarchy that maintains critical functions—specifically cryogenic storage, emergency beacons, and monitoring—as well as essential power and communications, ensuring preservation supersedes all secondary system activities during long-mission degradation.
