EMI Filter Assembly

Power Bus EMI/EMC Filter Network

The power bus electromagnetic interference filter assembly is a hardware network of nanocrystalline common-mode chokes, MnZn ferrite cores, and ceramic feedthrough capacitors that suppresses conducted and radiated noise between shared subsystems. Built to MIL-STD-461 standards using Pi-filter topologies, the assembly protects sensitive cryogenic instrumentation requiring extremely clean power. Operation in lunar installations is complicated by dense electronics packaging that elevates electromagnetic coupling risks, while components must function across the environment's full thermal range. Over time, radiation aging progressively degrades filter capacitors, threatening long-term electromagnetic compatibility across the bus.
