EMI/RFI Shielding

Braided Shield + Conductive Gaskets for EMI Containment

EMI and radio-frequency shielding comprises tinned copper braided cable sheaths, conductive elastomer seam gaskets, and ferrite common-mode chokes designed to contain electromagnetic emissions from power switching. In lunar electrical architectures, where single-point grounding is mandated to prevent loop currents, this hardware suppresses switching ripple generated by primary power and DC-DC converters before it disrupts sensitive communications and sensor electronics. The passive 15-kilogram assembly provides 60 dB of shielding effectiveness at 1 GHz, drawing zero watts while maintaining a 50-year design lifetime and a 500,000-hour mean time between failures.
