Executed from radiation-hardened NOR flash at a power draw of 0.5 watts, the software runs consistency checks every hour using Allan-style time-series analysis. Across a 100-year operational lifetime on the lunar surface, optical hardware suffers radiation-induced aging, requiring continuous cross-comparison to characterize progressive hardware degradation. When reference disagreement among the star tracker, sun sensor, and Earth sensor exceeds designated thresholds, the software automatically flags the anomaly across a 500,000-hour mean time between failures.
